ACTS 20:24

"But my life is worth nothing unless I use it for doing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus - the work of telling others the good news about God's wonderful kindness and love."

Dear Friends,

We are pleased to report to you that once again we had a safe and productive trip to San Luis, Mexico.

The Lord granted us the privilege to minister in three church services, one small group, three different Drug Rehab Centers and at a dinner for the alumni and current students of the "Doers of the Word" Bible School.  Over 70 students, many who are now in ministry, enjoyed a chicken dinner.

Brother Adalberto, was honored for his labor of love as director of "Doers of the Word" Bible School.  Those of you who know Adablerto know that this honor was well deserved.

A ministry which has begun recently is to visit the poorest of the poor, shut ins, in their homes.  Visits were made to 10 shut in homes.  The way of salvation was presented at each home they prayed the sinner's prayer.

We were able to bring 35 stuffed animals with us to give to the children in the shut in homes.  The joy and delight on the faces of the children when we placed a stuffed animal in their hands cannot be described.

A VBS was conducted for the children at Bethel Orphanage and we ministered in 3 Drug Rehab Centers. The ladies at the Drug Rehab Center for women enjoyed the home made cookies and gift bags that they were given.

Because of the fire at a Day Care Center in Mexico City about two weeks ago, the government is enforcing new safety requirements.  Forty Eight Smoke Alarms were installed at the Orphanage and a fallen wall was restored at the Soup Kitchen.

The men spent time with the young men from Oasis by taking them to dinner at Burger King and to a movie.  This was a real treat for them.  Many times when groups visit they spend all of their time at the orphanage and the teen boys are forgotten.

We left one day early to attend our first grandson's graduation party.  We are so proud of David!

For those of you who are wondering, our visas for Cuba were denied.  We refused other mission trips because we were put on hold from February until May and then were not able to travel as planned.  However, the Lord knows best and we trust Him.  We have been very busy ministering in the United States and were able to take to trips for ministry at NYSUM where Debbie and Fausto are serving.

Your prayers for us continue to be appreciated.  We depend on the strength of the Lord in every decision we make and every step we take.  Your financial gifts bless our lives and enable us to serve the Lord in this manner.  Your financial gifts made payable to Acts 20:24 and sent to 114 Burke Dr., Monroeville, PA 15146 are tax deductible.

You are in our prayers and we think of you with love,                                                                                              Pastor Jim and Becky Leake
